My dearest Wife
My Wife and I have been Married for 47 years, December 2009. Over the last few years she has got worse with Pulmonary Fibrosis to the extent that she is now bed ridden and lost a lot of weight and strength. Her mind is still very alert, but the body is weak and as such, she does not have control of her waterworks, and the odd time her bowels. She gets so embarrassed by this.
I am her carer and it does not bother me that I have to change and wash her many times a day. I know that a lot of men would have flown the coup or put their Loved one into a home, but I don’t feel that is the right thing to do.
My Wife has looked after myself and our Children so well over our Married Life, and I feel it is right that she should have the same care. If I can do my best for her, I will, with strength from God and the love of our family.
John
